Transmission activity

Our electrical transmission activity is provided through the company REDESUR and its four electrical transmission companies: Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur, Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 2, Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 3 and Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 4. These companies are responsible for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the transmission operations.

REDESUR

REDESUR is the concession company that provides electrical transmission service to the southern part of the country, in the regions of Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna and Puno. It also manages the telecommunications network in the regions where the company operates.

Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur

Since 2010, this concession company has provided the design, financing, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Tintaya-Socabaya transmission line, the 138 kV Tintaya Nueva-Tintaya Existente transmission line, and the associated substations.

Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 2

Since 2015, this concession company has provided the design, financing, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Azángaro-Juliaca-Puno transmission line, which consists of 115 km of circuits and is planned to go into commercial operation in 2018.

Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 3

Since 2016, this concession company has provided the design, financing, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Montalvo-Los Héroes transmission line, as well as the Montalvo (Moquegua) and Los Héroes (Tacna) substations. This line consists of 129 km of circuits and is planned to go into commercial operation in 2019.

Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 4

Future concession company to provide the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Tintaya-Azángaro transmission line, as well as the expansion of the 220 kV Tintaya substation and the 220 kV Azángaro substation. This line consists of 128 km of circuits and is planned to go into commercial operation in 2021.
